The Algerian International Cooperation Agency for Solidarity and Development (AICA) is a public institution with a specific character and a legal personality created by presidential decree n° 20-42 on February 11, 2020, and placed under the authority of the Presidency of the Republic.

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, announced the creation of the Agency at the 33rd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), held in Addis Ababa on February 9, 2020.

Headed by a Director General, AICA’s organizational structure includes a number of directorates and services in charge of implementing its various activities. The directorates are structured as follows:

- The directorate in charge of strategic watch studies, forecasting, analysis and synthesis;

- The directorate in charge of economic, social and humanitarian cooperation;

- The directorate in charge of cultural, scientific and religious cooperation;

- The directorate in charge of administration and general resources.

In support of the actions of the aforementioned directorates, which are subdivided into units and projects, the Agency is also provided with the following services, reporting directly to the Director General:

- Technical secretariat;

- Communications and Public Relations;

- Legal Affairs.

The Algerian International Cooperation Agency for Solidarity and Development is also provided with an Orientation Council, which examines and deliberates on the various actions led by the institution, including its overall international cooperation strategy, its annual and multi-annual program and its partnership projects with similar institutions or organizations.

Notre objectif majeur étant d’accompagner les pays partenaires dans leur parcours vers un développement plus solide et durable.
